Samantha is a Therapeutic Bodyworker, Aromatherapist and Educator with over 40 years experience in the healing arts. She specializes in using aromatherapy to enhance healing for post-operative massage, manual lymphatic drainage for detoxing & cancer, plus therapeutic massage for pain. She has also specialized in prenatal and postpartum massage, coaching and prenatal education in the past 25 years.
She skillfully combines several disciplines to provide customized treatment that fosters personal healing; helps harmonize the spirit and enhances health through expanded mind body awareness.
Samantha is a licensed CA massage therapist (LMT) and a member of ABMP (Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals, Chicky Institute for manual Lymphatic Drainage, and Baral Institute for Viseral Techniques
Samantha studied Bodywork & Aromatherapy with many schools since 1986:
Santa Monica School of Massage, Jin Shin Do, Manual Lymphatic Drainage with Chickly Institute. Aromatherapy at the Botanical Healing Arts Center in Santa Cruz, she has attended Most of Kurt Schnaubel’s Scientific Conferences and training with Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy, and Eve Taylor of London. She attended the very first NAHA (national Association for Holistic Aromatherapy) conference. She also trained with Thiannon Harris in Effective Pain Management with Essential Oils, and Aromatherapy in Pregnancy and Beyond. Samantha has also taken courses with Jeanne Rose who wrote one of the first her/essential oil books. She attended French aromatherapy conferences in France and has taken courses in French Medical Aromatherapy on different occasions and with Dr Patrick Collin in Southern France and with Dr. Daniel Penoil in the mountains outside of Lyon who has a medical center based on using essential oils, focused on medical aromatherapy and treatment. Samantha also took Dr D’Angelo’s medical aromatherapy class in Denver and became a member of AIA (association of International Aromatherapy). Samantha learned about Gua Sha techniques at an Auyrvedic Midwifery Workshop, and has continued her studies privately in Gua Sha.
She has been featured on local television channels 4(NBC) & 7(ABC), and was an invited speaker at a Prenatal Psychology Conference in Nijimegen, Holland, 2002. She has taught Aromatherapy at Berkeley University-Microbiology Department, San Francisco School of Massage, and the Integrative Healing Arts Center. Samantha also teaches private aromatherapy classes.
